Safety Day is one day each year when LCCC Members teach members what we have learned about river running. We get together, trade stories and lessons learned, and develop our ability to function as a team when it really matters. Come on out!

This year we’ve got speakers every half hour except for two longer blocks, one on haul systems and another on swimming and wading. You can participate in any part of the program: there is no requirement that you stay for the whole day. Bring your own lunch and beverages if you’ll be around at lunchtime.

The goal is to share what we know about staying out of trouble—and dealing with trouble—on whitewater rivers. Come meet the crew, learn something, teach us what you know! Topics include prevention, signaling/communications, first aid and rescue gear, whitewater swimming, boat wrangling, ropework and all things whitewater. We are not planning to boat this day, however we will gear up and swim in the river for practice.
