FAQs

Where do I find out about club trips?

When trips are scheduled in advance, you can find them on the club’s calendar. More typically, trips are organized on an ad hoc basis via the club’s Google Group, which is just for members. Join the LCCC to gain access to the club’s Google Group. During the peak season members are paddling with one another as many as two or three times a week.

Do I have to be an official trip coordinator to post a trip?

No, you don’t. Anybody can post a trip and get club members together for an outing. For more information about organizing a trip, see these guidelines.

Do I have to be a member to paddle with the club?

No. You can paddle with us as a guest, but we’ll ask you to sign a waiver before joining us. Guests are limited to no more than three trips a year with the club.

Where can I get a waiver?

You can download a waiver right here!

Is the club just for canoes?

No. We welcome all kinds of watercraft, including tandem and solo canoes, C-1s, hardshell kayaks, inflatable kayaks (IKs), and stand-up paddle boards (SUPs).

Do you always stop for lunch on Club trips? I’ve heard that your nickname is the “lunch club.”

Ha ha! Not always, no, but we do love socializing, and surfing waves, and we definitely don’t race down the river or speed through our club activities. We suggest to people that they leave their watch in the car. Your trip leader will be able to give you a sense of whether to pack a lunch.

I own a paddlesport business. Is there a way I could let your members know about my company and our services or products?

Yes! Join the Club. Once you do, you can place a free ad in the Cascade Currents monthly newsletter.

Can I buy a paid ad in your Club’s newsletter?

Yes. Just be in touch with us via email.
